Miami’s Wynwood Arts District is bursting at the seams. There’s no denying that what once was a haven for boutique art galleries, quiet walks, and locals-only bars, has now become over-flooded with tourists, construction, scenesters and ‘young urban professionals’ checking out the new happenin’ restaurants and bars. Thankfully one thing has managed to stay the same, and that’s the fact that the entire neighborhood serves as a canvas for artists who flock here from all over the world to paint huge outdoor murals. Wynwood Arts District has led and continues to lead Miami’s art renaissance, making the city known for something other than night clubs and beaches. So whenever I need to feel inspired or am looking for an artful release, I drive/walk around the neighborhood skillfully zig-zagging tourists to get my fill of street art that I love so much. In the distance I hear a faint, “I don’t get it, what’s so great about all this ‘graffiti’ on the walls?” <my heart breaks> Photos Yesica Laver Flores of Simply Lively
